Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Review

Review | By RPG Master on March 5, 2026 | Game: Final Fantasy 7

The second chapter in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy had impossibly high expectations to meet. Incredibly, Square Enix has managed to exceed almost all of them.

Gameplay & Mechanics

Rebirth opens up the world, allowing Cloud and the party to explore massive, varied regions. The combat system builds upon Remake's stellar foundation, adding Synergy abilities that make the party feel truly united in battle.

Graphics & Sound

While the performance mode struggles slightly with resolution, the art direction is phenomenal. The newly orchestrated soundtrack features hundreds of tracks that perfectly capture the emotion of the original game.

The Verdict

It's a sprawling, messy, beautiful epic that cements the FF7 Remake project as one of the most ambitious undertakings in gaming history.

  • Pros: Incredible cast interactions, deep combat, massive amount of high-quality minigames.
  • Cons: Open world activities can feel formulaic, performance mode blurriness.

Final Score: 9/10
